He raises some valid points, most of which are applicable to more countries than just the USA.
Crap media, scare mongering and the celebration of mediocrity, self interested politicians and big business and risk management all add to the problem.
I lived in the US from 1969 to 1972, I'd call that your heyday years, sadly I dont see that country anymore, nor do I see the same in Australia as I did back then. Whatever happened to the can do attitude?
It is also easier to whine and be negative than fix the problem, and he has another point, you have to recognise you have a problem to fix the problem.
