I went to my Doctor yesterday for a pre-op check up and while I had heard this was in the works, it was the first time for me. The nurse, while going over my records, asked if there were any guns in my house. It took me by surprise, but I said I didn't want anyone knowing whether there were or weren't any guns in my home. From what I've been able to learn since then is that it's part of the Obamacare legislation and Doctors actually get a bonus just for asking the question and recording the answer. It will eventually be used to determine your health insurance rates. Isn't Marxism grand!

Blue, there are 2 answers to this question.
1. F#£% off

2. No

Regardless of accuracy.

My answer to my doctor on that question 3 years ago was, "I understand that you are required to ask that question, but I find it intrusive, insulting and no one's business." She chuckles about not asking it again every year.

My doctor doesn't ask. Reasons: This is Missouri and (presumably) everyone carries and/or owns firearms. And SHE carries too. She (and the nurse) see mine everytime I go for an appointment (they subtract 2 lbs for gun and ammunition when the nurse weighs me).

I have not been asked that question by any health care person. My response will be, "it's none of your damn business." All the best...

I might go, "wanna find out?", while giving her a good leering.
Especially if she is young and good looking.

Unless she qualifies her question I will take it the way I want.
if she did qualifies then the answer would be "None of your business"

I find that this works best if you are an old fart.. young folks would just look creepy.

I would imagine that anytime the question is met with defiance they will automatically check "yes".

My thought exactly!
That is why I will say "no" with all proper indignation.

If the information goes to the government they won't know, and if she is working for a burglary ring they will be surprised!

The Bloody federal Liberals (Democrats) WASTED over 2 BIllion dollars on our long gun registration. Thank the Lord the Conservatives (Republican) killed that PoS legislation.
