Wait a minute (WAM)! I saw Jason Borne take out a sniper with only a double barrel shotgun!! Maybe that is all you need!

That sniper knew enough to drop, it's a long series and if he wanted another walk on he had better adhere to the script. |

There was a guy in Seattle who was aquitted for "Negligent discharge of a firearm" by using Biden's interview as a defense. There were some thugs messing with his car in the condo parking lot, so he stepped out and fired two blasts from his shotgun in the air. It did get the thugs to move on and then the police arrived and took him to jail.
If someone is messing with your car, yell at them that you are going to get your gun and then call the police. They may not be affraid of the police but an idiot with a gun scares the crap out of them.

I think they should at least lose a limb or two.
Where I grew up, it is not uncommon for thief to die when captured.
In a way I have no sympathy for them either.
Today it is JUST stealing your car when you are not looking, tomorrow they will break in your house while you are sleeping.
What next? slit your throat?
Giving criminals slaps on the wrist is encouraging their sense of entitlement to properties that do not belong to them.

You spend a darn good chunk of your life earning the money to buy the things you have. It's that part of your life the thief is attempting to take so why shouldn't the thief forfeit his life when caught.
