That looks sweet DS...once again you have excelled mate. I'm looking forward to seeing the finished product with stock attached. I reckon it will be one great shooter.

7x30 Waters is a calibre that you don't hear much of these days, but it's a light recoiling calibre that is good for teens to learn hunting smaller game critters.

Do you plan on removing the "Cal 45-70 Govt" notation on the barrel mate?

Slimjim - this 7X30 Waters should shoot most any bullet from 100 grains up to an including 150 grains....

Vince - as deep as the caliber is engraved in the stub part of the barrel, I believe I'm going to leave it as is. A 45/70 cannot be put into the chamber, so it's not really going to matter...

The customer did not send the stock with this barrel, so these are all the pictures I took of this one....

very nice, the .307 would be a great choice too..would it not?? you could even get fancy and have a 7mm/07 now THAT would be different Very Happy
I wouldn't go that way Very Happy it would have to be 6.8/07 for me Very Happy Very Happy

Yes, the 307 Winchester would be an excellent choice!

From an accuracy stand point, I believe the 7X30 Waters, at least on the H&R platform, will provide the greatest accuracy potential....
