LMAO.....Yeah, i really know where you are comming from with the band members and their efforts
One band i was in was just simply terrible, but i needed the $$$ so i did it. After a few months of touring and meeting new people, i had a few people tell me, "Why are you carrying the band and making them look good?".
I didn't get it until after the last show i played and we got stiffed, no cash, no crowd (they all left), no nothing (drinking habbits and sounding like $41t sure does make people go away...and quick)
The only reason i stayed in to it as long as i had was because they were my buds of mine, and i thought they'd get some expierence.......i was wrong!
But i did learn and moved into studios, got into the recording thing and made more money in a studio than ever on stage, and in a fraction of the time It was good to have connections......BEFORE they retired or moved down south

Vince, do you know what the definition of perfect pitch is?
That's when you throw an accordian from across the room and it lands in a garbage can, on top of a set of bagpipes and a banjo.
Seriously, though, I love AC/DC, since Bon Scott died on my birthday. I also listen to 40's swing and Brian Setzer, Metalica, Dean Martin, Hank Williams Junior, Alan Jackson, No Doubt, and about any good metal or country.
I have to refrain from shooting the stereo if Disco comes on.

I like a variety of music, John Cougar Mellencamp, AC/DC, CCR, a few Concrete Blonde tunes, Hollies, Rolling Stones, 50's, 60's, 70's, 80's Rock. Some John Denver. I like Elvis, and Roy Orbison, Roy is my favorite of the two. I like some country, some old some new. I like Sarah Brightman, Nora Jones. I like a lot of music but Rap is "CRAP" and so is most not all of the new stuff my daughter listens to.

Hey Mike, I hear ya buddy. There have been a few ocassions when I felt like taking to my pipes with a chainsaw (similar sound ) but then I remember they are over 100 yrs old and a handdown from my Mum.
You would love our vocalist Mike. I have never heard anybody do Bon Scott as well as he does. You can almost shut your eyes and its Bon singing.
There are some pretty good young bands coming out of the US at the moment. Met Benji Madden from Good Charlotte last year, they are pretty good. Then there is Simple Plan, Green Day, and many others. Quite a few of the newer bands like My Chemical Romance, Yellowcard, His Infernal Majesty, Alkaline Trio and MXPX come out here to Australia and play in smaller venues and they are actually getting quite a following. Then there is the 2 Australian girl singers, The Veronicas. My daughter spent the night with Jess at a concert just before they left to go on tour in the States and they are a real down to earth type of group, and they can sing too.
10Ring. Know what you mean when you say you were carrying the band. Been there before with 2 different pipe bands. Now I refuse to have anything to do with pipe bands. I play only solo or with the rock band. Luckily our band is pretty good, but because they are only a hobby band, and also because of their age, they will never tour, which is a shame because the covers they do are awesome and our originals are good as well. Only "problem" they have is the lead guitarist doesn't like to turn down the volume. Rock and Roll is meant to be loud !!, only problem is we have a noise limit of 95dB inside the venue and 85dB outside.
Cheers, Vince

Ah. Yes. Music appriciation classes...In high school I played in an orchestra/marching band/dance band. I played the trombone. I guess you have to have worked with this kind of music to really appriciate it...

1895ss A little trivia, the reason Roy started recording is because Elvis refused to record one of his writings. Elvis later said that that was one of his biggest mistakes

What are those names .....Sounds like you have some sort of infection... And NO, it's not me
Along with those guys, i've got somewhere in my collection Paganini, Chopin, Shostakovich, Haydn, and Brahms......Just your average noise to listen to
Get with the times and listen to Cat Scratch Feaver instead of that Sevens fellow
