Pages Loading

Is anyone else having problems with the pages of The Nut loading?

I am finding that it takes a few minutes for each page to load because of the adverts not loading properly. In the end I hit F5 to refresh the page and after doing this three or four times, the pages loads.

I am using Mozilla Firefox, but have never had this problem in the past...it only started a couple of days ago. Anybody got any suggestions as to what the problem might be? burr

I think it's the adverts (as you said). I think the program is waiting for the advert to load before loading the page. I'm also using Firefox but I'm not having the same problem, Jon just bought this computer this year so it's pretty fast anyway.

My old (around 14 year old) computer isn't having a problem. I use Google Chrome.

I'm thinking it is something on my end...maybe my Ad-Aware, although I've had that for a while.

It seems to be the ads are not loading and it is jumping back and forth between waiting for and receiving the data. Only problem is it seems to get caught up in a loop and unless I "refresh" the page it just sits there going back and forth, but not loading.

I've not had any problems for some time now. I'm using Firefox too.

That sounds really odd Vinnie, maybe a virus or some other animal has corrupted your system. See if there's any updates you've missed for Firefox or your operating system.

Vince, clear out your FF cache every time you close the browser and install No-Script add-on for firefox.

Seems to be fine for me... not sure what the problem is... sometimes servers get loaded and things slow down. I would HATE to be the other websites that share the server with HuntingNut! When I run the backup feature it grinds them to a halt hehe.

Vince, her exactly the same and I'm using Google Chrome. Strange thing is that this only happens when I'm on the Huntingnut, not at other fora.
Lately I often don't succeed to load a page. Even when I hit the return to "Home-Top 30", I often don't get the items-list anymore, only the heading.

It must be that we're "down under" as Im having to reload regularly, its becoming quite slow and gets a bit frustrating.
Always good once i'm in but it is pissing me off a bit as well.

I'm having issues with another site and general internet speed.
Internet speed here dies in the arse after 3 pm when all the schoolkids get home.
Just a thought.

Had an intermittent issue with Hunting Nut loading when I was using Webroot antivirus !!!

Wonder if I would of ever figured it out if I hadn't quit using it.

Try disabling security programs to see if it/they are the culprit.

So far I have only had minor wait problems here but another board I was on used google ads and it was so slow that I ran both computers to the same sight - My old DOS machine is a slow puppy compared to the Windoze 7 64 bit quad processor monster that I built about a year and a half ago but it was running to new pages in half the time.

No viruses or malware so:

I just chalked it up to high demand at the ads - that or the NSA, CIA, FBI and DHS were all looking at my data at the same time. NoNo

I'll have to check my worm farm to see what the intelligence squad is up to. There I go, they just put me on another list! dammit! Deal
