Looking for a box of 240grn Hornady XTP's, 44 cal (.429"). I use these in my muzzleloader for deer. I figure I better start looking now if I want to locate a box before septembers hunts roll around Smile

I bought two hundred sabots off ebay the other day for a super cheap price. I normally buy the 100count xtp boxes and just put'em together as I need.

My boy though as a youth deer hunter, gets to hunt all three seasons and will be shooting my spare muzzleloader... so I was going to let him shoot up a bunch of 240's.

I have plenty of 240's for this year's hunt... and I have a nearly full box of 300grn XTPs that I use for elk. I dont however, have enough for hunting and him target practicing all summer. I guess while he learns the gun I could let him shoot up an old supply of roundballs I have. Would rather have him learn on a hunting load though.

Anyway I'll keep looking, thanks! Smile

I stopped off at a small gun and western wear store I like to hit up when I'm near by, I was blown away by what they had in stock. TONS of things! Brass for almost everything, bullets for almost everything... powders, primers. Cases of .223 and everything else.

I found at least 5 100ct boxes of the 240grn XTPs, another 8 or so 100ct 300grn XTPs, and boxes of XTPs I never knew existed... and a plethera of other things. They had pretty much everything except for .22LR. I bought a box of XTPs for my muzzleloader ($27 per box), couple boxes of 40s&w ($17.89) and 380acp (my 12 year olds favorite pistol caliber to shoot) for plinking in the coming week (state holiday coming up). Great reasonable prices. Great day out shopping!

Best of all, met a guy who works there that I've known online only for a few years now... come to find out we grew up in the same home town and I'd been over to his house lots of times as a kid. Pretty amusing.

WOW...that is a great score Dallan...and meeting up with an old friend makes it even sweeter. If the store isn't too far from home, maybe he'll keep you in mind when the .22 rimfire rounds start trickling in again.
