Now I'm ashamed to say Australia is a leading light on this crusade, Bob Carr our current foreign minister and UN sycophant was a minister in the background of some of our states current gun laws. The previous UN soft cock gareth (letter of apology) evans was no better, just out to cement their place in history on the world stage at tax payers expense.
Looks like they've finally achieved the holy grail.
Whatever you guys do DONT let your 2nd amendment get neutralised, it's been a thorn in the ass of the UN for decades in their quest for total civilian disarmament.
Best thing you lot could do is throw the UN out of the US and stop funding them, you can put the wasted dollars into paying off your debt.

Our media wouldn't report it because they don't want US citizens to know it is occurring. I agree with stop funding the UN and move them off our soil.

This website post the names of the Senators that voted for the treaty. Telling. Not a Republican among them.

Interesting that the US changed it's mind about a common consensus of the states before we would vote for it. (The states being the UN states) Originally we wouldn't sign it without a majority consensus, maybe to get Obama elected, but now we've changed strategies (and Obama's elected) and have decided to vote for it. HHHhhhmmmmm
From the NSSF;
At the end of the session, a U.S. government spokesperson told reporters “It's important to the United States and the defense of our interests to insist on consensus. But every state in this process has always been conscious of the fact that if consensus is not reached in this process, that there are other ways to adopt this treaty, including via a vote of the General Assembly.” The spokesperson went on to say that the United States would vote “yes” on the treaty in the General Assembly, regardless of the positions of other member states. By abandoning the requirement for consensus the United States is assuring passage of the treaty by the United Nations.
The US Senate still has to ratify this, hopefully their heads are screwed on and any flowery new promises from the administration will be ignored with open palm-in-face attitude. This is huge, awful and world wide, I'm sure the Senate will be on the side of the constitution, but you never know what the idiots have up their sleeves. By casually changing ideals, by not informing the public in any broad important way we are back to ram-rod legislation. When you open your eyes the next morning there's no front door on your house and the rats and flys are on their way in. It's a what the heck is happening moment again, with Obama. Bowing down to the UN in this situation is a blatant disreguard for our constitution and freedoms.

Makes you wonder why last year the vote for the treaty was shelved last year until after Obama got re-elected, then it was full steam ahead without no consensus of the states.
I have already talked to Grassley and him being pro 2nd will staunchly vote it down, on the other hand Harkin couldn't care less and never has about the 2nd amendment cuz he's retiring.
I would like nothing better than to watch the UN building float across the pond off US soil.
Any takers?
