This is for Suz...
"The honor of the people lies in the moccasin tracks of the woman. Walk the good road.... Be dutiful, respectful, gentle and modest my daughter... Be strong with the warm, strong heart of the earth. Be strong and sing the strength of the Great Powers within you, all around you." --Village Wise Man, SIOUX
The Elders say the Native American women will lead the healing among the tribes. We need to especially pray for our women, and ask the Creator to bless them and give them strength. Inside them are the powers of love and strength given by the Moon and the Earth. When everyone else gives up, it is the women who sings the songs of strength. She is the backbone of the people. So, to our women we say, sing your songs of strength; pray for your special powers; keep our people strong; be respectful, gentle and modest. Oh, Great One, bless our women. Make them strong today.

Thank you...I've been having a hard time lately with my heart. Just did a treadmill echo last Friday, waiting for results. I can use some up-lifting...thank you!
Interestingly it's not raining (to wash away my worries) hhhmmmm
Speaking of spirits;
The Dalai Lama is arriving here to speak at the university and the tickets are $20- as he's a non-profit sort of guy (just cover expenses). The scalped tickets are going for $200- and the venue is tiny (compared to who the Dalai Lama is) why would they do that? Don't they know who this guy is? It's going to be a mess I predict. They have 3000 tickets and expect 11000 people to be able to attend....I don't get it, and he's like Elton John here...

Heerow

Hang in there Suz! A while back I went through a bunch of cardio tests because of a very irregular heartbeat. They never found anything but it went away. Now interestingly enough my doctor had changed my thyroid medicine dosage just before this, and one of the side effects of the medicine is irregular heartbeats…

Suz, not to worry mate.
I only have 3 valves on my heart instead of the usual 4.
And I also have very irregular heart beat, I use that as an excuse as to why I cannot play music properly.. no rhythm you see..
Vince, it is sage words, I read those to my daughters and they are now away pondering it .. good!

Jeeezz Geland!! do you have to use unleaded or regular? Never heard of that. I've got upper chambers quivering instead of pumping, could lead to stroke. Haven't spoken to doctor yet but he's waiting for the reports to come in. Please no rain dances and actually I don't like to talk about it, it only reminds me how vulnerable life can be.
Lets talk shooting instead. I just bought a Marlin 1895 lever gun in 45-70. It was a demo and has some tiny scratches near the serial numbers. So what! I got about $60 off the retail price. Beautiful walnut stock. The metal needs some softening of the edges, it reminds me of stamped out workmanship from a metal shop. It won't take much to get it smooth and rounded though. Mostly it's the lever itself. Actually I could buy a large loop lever and dress it up a bit. I need to sell a gun or two to pay for all this, but it's been bugging me to get one for quite a while and the price was right, I had to do it.
Thanks for all your kind words and thoughts, I've been living with this for a few years but it's gotten worse, we just need to change strategies and find another therapy. I can easily sit on my arse and be happy if I have to but getting out doors and going to work are priorities. I don't need my income interrupted. My boss said he'd help out with cost, if it comes to that. That was huge comming from him. Most selfish guy I know, but he likes me and needs my presence at work so I guess he's going to help out. Kinda makes you feel human again.

Congrats on your jack-handle.
Get better Suz and do a little recoil therapy with the new gun.

Geland, are you a copy-chinese? Did they forget other parts too?
And Suz: nothing better to forget dayly trouble than buying an extra rifle. And a 45 Government is also on my wishlist. I already have Lymans centennial edition of Ruger's N° 1, the one in the big wooden shrank and with optics of about 1 yard long. A nice thing but too heavy and to shiny to carry out hunting or shooting.

This site is incredible.
We start out with Vinces touchy feely indian proverbs, work through Suz's on going heart issues, find out Gelands missing bits and finish on the fact that Suz folded and got the 45/70 she asked about a few weeks ago.
That about cover it?
