I hit another deer with the Ram this morning. The deer just exploded and then I went right over the top of it. It wasn't pretty. The damn thing bent my super bumper, broke out the fog light and the impact broke the mounts for the headlight assembly. That bumper has saved the insurance a whole lot of money.

5 deer
Over a dozen turkeys
And 3 college girls in a car that couldn't see a big black Ram with horns coming at them.

Time for a new one I guess. I would have totaled the truck at least twice.

Are they nice and tender when you harvest them like that?

A little to tender I have to add gravel and hair but all the salt we use on Minnesota roads seasons them very nicely.

The old bull bar has saved your Ram nicely Wiersay. Guys out here that use them swear by them when driving at night.

Next one should be a nice heavy duty SHINY aluminium one mate.

Wow Wiers you are lucky. Glad I don't have that luck. It sure saved your truck from major damage. Looks like your bull bar is integral with the bumper, that musta cost a pretty penny too. Well worth it. Snow on the road didn't help you to stop I bet.

I had the opportunity to witness just how hard of an impact can occur when vehicle meets deer on the way to work one morning. On a 4 lane hwy. I was the only car heading South with a group of 3 vehicles on the other side heading North appx. 100 yds. in front of me when a group of deer ran out from my side well out in front of me directly into the group of vehicles going the other way. The lead vehicle on the inside lane was a pickup and he saw them, locked up his brakes as did the car behind him but the compact car in the outside lane wasnt getting what was going on and shot past the pickup. What happened next was unbelieveable. This car caught a doe perfectly broadside and dead center of the grille. The doe looked as if someone had punted a football doing a perfect slow barrel roll while being hurled nearly 20 yards into the air and traveling a good 50 yards before it hit the pavement directly accross from me . I have seen photos of dead deer on top of power poles and such and used to think it was a spoof. Not anymore . Glad you had that cow catcher on the front of that Ram. I need to show those pics to a buddy of mine. He is 0 for 4 with deer. They told him they wont be able to piece his scout together again if he hits another one. He actually drove home over 350 miles after the last one and found a 3 inch horn tip stuck in his radiator so tight it didnt leak until they pulled it out at the body shop.

LOL, that is a good one. Similar to the folks that didn't know they hit a coyote at 70 mph and drove for another 300 miles to find these cute eyes staring out at them from inside there front facia when they got home. The coyote was unharmed - shaken, not stirred.

I bought the bumper after a deer hit that didn't look like it did damage until I looked close at the original bumper. The damage that time was $1200.00 I started looking and I was able to get the Ranch Hand buffalo killer put on for $1250.00. The road I travel to work is pure deer heaven.

Good eye Donut Slayer! That is the second set of STT's on that truck. I really like them good traction but yet they don't howl very bad. I have gotten over 50K on each set, not great compared to highway tires but very good for a mud tire. I'm sure I will be putting another set on this truck.

I almost forgot about this thread. I have been busy since hit #5, hits #6.7&8 were one solid simultaneous hit. That one scared me! Then a few months ago I hit two fawns the came out of the fog right in between the headlights. Other wise I have been very lucky.
