The gun is new and I'm busting to strip the stock and put a different finish on it. Might wait till it gets a few dings and scratches.
Thanks for the links Vince, Google Mapped it.

tikka,
The Gold coast is just on or over an hour down the highway.
Ripley shotgun is a bit limited due to room and authorised safety template.
There is an informal shoot for your choice of sheepstation (sledging compulsory) on the 2nd and 4th sundays of the month and a breast cancer charity shoot on any 5th sunday using the electric traps. $7.50 a round of 25 clays.
General shooting using the manual traps available on any day the range is open, friday through monday.
There is also a good club down in Beaudesert.
No doubt you'll have it all sussed out before the unpacking is finished.

In the US of A you can ship a rifle or shotgun to someone in your state, NOT out of state if you do not have an FFL. Also can ship rifle or shotgun back to manufacturer for work thru the mail.
Handguns must be shipped common carrier (UPS) to a FFL who is receiving the handgun.
Also if you plan to hunt in another state, you can ship a firearm to himself or herself in care of another person in the state where he or she intends to hunt.

In Canada restricted and long guns may be sent by mail anywhere in the country as long as it is the most secure service and a signature is required on delivery. A permit is required to take a restricted firearm to the post office and from the post office home if you miss the home delivery.

Waja git? Another Baikal?? Love those and funny thing since I sold both my single shots I'm seeing more and more at the trap range and having fun telling others how fun and robust they are. Also having fun showing them the selector lever on the bottom how it converts ejector to extractor....each and every time I get the "so THAT'S what that's for!" |
Please explain that selector thingy? I think I have more Baikals than I can carry, but I don't understand what you mean there.
I know that the Baikal double with only 1 trigger will change barrel when you push the trigger forward (and when open and close it, it's back to normal sequence).
Or that the lever of a single shot almost works like a hammer and you can use it to put it on a safe non-cocked position.
I even once gave away a Baikal me-too Auto-5 to a czech friend.
but how to go from eject to extract??? Please enlighten me Sir.

On the single shot clays models:
Bottom of reciver, little serrated hook-lever thingy, slide it back before opening. It cancels the spring and turns the ejector into and extractor. It auto-resets so you have to do it each time or it'll fling that sucker over your shoulder.
I've forgotten a few times and launched my snap-cap into the grass etc.

My Son has a Baikal IZH27 12ga O/U and it has ejectors that are controlled by 2 set screws located on the curved portion at the front of the receiver on both sides. . To adjust them, open the action and turn the set screws either vertical or horizontal.

Yes- the 310 / OU's uses a screw to select ejector or extractor/lifter. And they are the only "budget" O/U I'd ever have. They are by far the most durable and best regulated and outlast and outshoot most of the fancy ones!
