A buddy and I drove over to Charlotte for the big gun show today. I planned to meet with Les there too. Traffic to get into the parking lot was backed up a good half mile! This place has plenty of parking and two entrances. After a quick discussion we decided to skip it and head elsewhere. I called Les and he was already inside so maybe he can give us a report.

That makes three times in the last year that I went to a gun show and didn't go in because of the crowding. Have folks become that much more interested in guns or are they that much worried about what our govt. might do to gun owners in the near future?

Pumpin you're like me, I hate crowds, it's just an easier way to get a disease. Last one I went to, I went on the last day really early and it wasn't too bad. I think the looky-loos go about mid-day to tie in a lunch or an after church get together. Late afternoon is a good time but some of the vendors might not be there.

Wonder what the huge attraction was?

Suz

2 weeks ago, I did the same thing. My son and I drove up to the show, saw the line waiting to get in was 200 yards long. We went and got lunch instead. I hate looking at guns when elbow to elbows.

Suz, I think the attraction is here in Florida, they give CCW classes at the shows. They're always full.

Yes !!!

If re-elected there will be an all out assault on the 2nd Amendment all while your being told differently !!!
Remember this is the administration that says one thing and does the exact opposite.
The most critical issue will come with the U.S. Supreme Court.

Also posted under buyers remorse.

So yesterday I went to the Charlotte gun show. About a bazillion others folks did too, once we got there it took about three hours to park and get through the door, and then to make matters worse, no Pumpkinslinger when I needed him the most, his level handedness and gun knowledge.

So I am going back and forth between three booths looking at a beautiful Browning $685, an impressive T/C Icon $465, and a Savage Axis $240 all .308 caliber. As I said it was a tad crowded, ( I think a lot of folks think Barry is gonna get re-elected ), the booths were very far apart, it's is hard enough for me to walk let alone fight my way through a massive crowd, it's hot I'm sweatin' my bu-- off and getting a little angry, mostly at myself for wanting to spend some money.

So I broke two of my rules, don't but on a whim, do your research, and don't buy rifle scope combos. I was unprepared to make a decent decision and let my pocketbook do the talking.

So I bought the Axis with a Bushnell Sharpshooter 3X9 scope.

And now that I have had time to look up the rifles on the web I wish I had bought the T/C, that was a great price on what looked like a fine rifle.

Oh well, we will see how it works.

Exactly..... that is why when given the chance he'll seat more anti's to the bench !!!

Sorry Les but by the time I would have been able to get to you they'd have been turning out the lights! A buddy had the Savage in .308 and really likes it. I can't remember if he got his scoped or not.

The wife and I went up to Cedar Rapids earlier this month and it was jammed packed, had some good deals thou. And by the way Lester, I have been hearing nothing but good out the Savage Axis rifle.

Chambered, there are 2 people now on the scotus that probably will retire in the next 2-3 years, and if Obama does win re-election, there will be more anti's on the bench like you said.

Yeah, I've heard some good and some bad, and some I won't listen to because they only buy $1500 guns and anything less just won't work.

I will try it out with no preconceptions and it will speak for itself.

But, the T/C Icon was just so purdy. The Browning was too purdy to use.

And, Pslinger, I am only joshing ya, had to blame it on someone I am practicing to become a politician.

You would not have enjoyed yourself way too crowded, but at least everyone there was in a good mood and considerate of their fellow man.

Les, I saw a Browning a couple weeks ago, bolt action, octagonal barrel ... I was drooling all over! However I didn't have the $$ and it was in .325 WSM, which I'm not too interested in. But dern it was purty!!

I sure wish we got the same in Oz.

1. Gunshows here are mediocre, with crowd (if you can call it) that thins out after 12pm, and thus most seller packs up and leave as well.

2. T/C Rifles here starts from $1000 plus (plus a lot more)
