Decided to take some time off and just chase some birds, after all it is fall and tis the season to chase birds. We've been working very hard to find birds, and do believe I am starting to get in shape. 26 above this morning with strong winds, which means my shooting is plain crap. I'm sure my hound was pretty put out today, though we finally did manage a couple of birds. Picks from the last few days. Sunday, my buddy and I did really well. Was raining though, so did not take any pics. It's been a fun season so far. Since most of deer have now died from Blue Tongue, chasing birds is where its at this year. Very Happy

I gotta agree Suz...magnificent pics...and beautiful looking cocks...not to fergit your very proud retriever there mate.

Glad you enjoyed you bird hunt mate, and it's a dead-set shame about the deer, BVT is a nasty affliction. Do you think they will recover and make a come-back...even if it means a couple of years of closed seasons? Be a real shame if they don't.

Cheers, Vince

Yes Vince, they will make a comeback. In a three years or so all should be back to normal, with a little cooperation from Mother Nature. Luckily the mule deer are not effected by this outbreak, only the whitetails. Our Fish and Gamed Dept. has offered to refund out cost of tags for the areas most effected.
