Somehow Aussie laws are getting more and more ridiculous.

The weird thing is that government will continue to take control of your lives until they are confronted by a group of people who say - "NO, I will not comply". At that point governments will actually back up in a confused stupor trying to figure out what it was you just did.
Like the groups around Washington State when they tried to pass a law that said All gun transfers were illegal (a felony) unless they were handled through a licensed dealer. Licensed dealers are only compelled to do background checks for the sale of guns in their inventory. A "transfer" was changed in definition to mean the change of control over a gun from a change in ownership of a gun. So, to loan a gun to a friend or relative for a weekend hunting trip the new law requires the the person who is borrowing your gun has to go through a background check and to get your gun back you have to go through a background check.
People stood up (between 2 and 3 thousand) stood on the capital lawn with their loaded guns and exchanged and even bought and sold privately owned guns in front of the state police, county Sheriff and capital police without any action taken. The state police and county Sheriff said they were probably in the safest area of the whole state that morning. All those fully armed individuals and not a single confrontation, no businesses ransacked, no looting, and no arrests were made. This inspite of every one who participated, according to the new law, committed felonies in front of the police. The "law" is a farcical unjust act and has been negated in theory and practice. The law enforcers will not enforce the unjust and unconstitutional act that is called a law. It simply does not exist unless you wish to submit to it.
