Maybe the "highly qualified, well trained" minimum wage and intelligence security guard (?) put 2 and 2 together, and came up with 3. (He don't need to think, he got RULES and PROCEDURES.)
Give a minimal intelligence some authority, and right away it will be abused.
Like the airport "guard" that used his authority (as he supposed) to get improperly familiar with a retired Marine Colonel's lady. The Colonel punched him out, but guess who was in trouble? Right... the Colonel.
We hear the horror stories, and I HATE L.A. International. But, my last experience with a TSA employee was professional, pleasant, and fast.
