I use the picture re-size feature in "paint"........don't seem to distort images to me. How are you doing it ?

That high heat header paint is good for at least 1200 F I think. Just another thought, what about epoxy paint?

Good suggestion. I have some swatches drying now and will be doing smudge test's with Butch's Boreshine to see what holds up best. Got some fuel-proof stuff from the local hobby shop that loooks promising. Spray paint is a restricted sales item here at most chain stores due to taggers and CARB mandate's same be super-low or no VOC. So most of the stuff we get here over the counter is enamel that set's poorly and has less than desierable durability.
Chamby: I was using the M/O Picture Manager to compress to "webpage" size. That dumbed it down too much. Tried another resize as posted on the prior page and it worked much better, forgot the option...gotta look it back up. The laptop I'm on now just lost the toolbar, pic's option etc.. The scope is matte and the barrel/action is flat black but I see your point and it does look kinda grey in the pics due to the flash, they are both black though and the gloss contrast's compliment each other IMHO.

stovey, regarding the scope, leave well enough alone. Find another project. Don't let chambered egg you on to do more! Don't let Bushy get your goat!
Have you thought about being a switch hitter? Shoot from the shoulder that is the good on?

Yeh- I miss interipted what he said as I thought he was bustin my chops back...wasn't the scope per say, was the color diff. That barrel is actually flat dark black. Looks kinda grey...meh, oh well.
Yep and bingo- I'm going lefty in a couple-few weeks. Doin' some dry firing tonight. In my dining room I can see WAY out over the parks/feilds, there's an old steeple about a mile off and I like sighting it up and dry firing on it. My new RE22 load aint been tested yet too.... so I needs to get on it. Still need a lil more healing regardless of what shoulder I lunch stuff offa with this one.
Thanks Omni- good suggestions and I'll give them a try.
Duracote wrote me back re: bedded portion of action being coated, POI change...said my call if I wanted to cover that area and the coating add's .25 to 1.5 mil's thickness- in case anyone is interested. Seems like a neat product with an insane color selection. I love the fact they have so many OEM black colors/shades/gloses. But, it's totally permanent so...again, I don't fell like sanding the Marinecote. So, paint it is....

No....could care less about the brand of scope you use !!!
Was asked for my opinion on the looks and gave it based upon a picture that I now know obviously doesn't represent the true color scheme.
Wasn't trying to "egg" anyone into doing anything at all.

I hear ya....I thought you was ribbin me....ya know, the Loopy inside joke thing. IT's all good...
The swtich-hitter thingy is kinda funny.... Maybe better termed "shooting lefty", so it wont set off yer g*ydar....
I've really enjoyed this rifle so far. Hit a couple snags learning about it like the scope and rings missmatch (crazy groups all over the place), an action screw needing a trim (snug it too far and the bolt got sticky). But- we should be good to go now. Has a great trigger, it's comfy and now it has a wicked cool look that I really like. Win-Win.

That's the infamous red carpet/coffee table where's a I shoot pic of all my shooters....you knew that... It's actually does match, black matches everything, if, ya remove the blanket.
Lamps match the table too...
And, the drapes and color coordinated napkin holders tie it all together...weeeeeeeeee!
