I could deal with the .40 but I'm not fond of the 9mm. I tend to lean toward bigger.

Hmmm!!! 9 vs. 45 another 10 pages of post can easily be in the future with that argument!!!
Pumpkin, I carry either a .40 cal or a .45 ACP.
I’ve often heard guys say the 40 is a great compromise, I for one don’t understand that, the 40 is a great round period.

There ya go again. Bad mouthin' the 9mmX19. A perfectly good self defense round. It is no longer the venerable(?) Parabellum of long past. They have gone a long way in developing bullets that have vastly improved it's hitting performence.
When I carry my Firestar M43 it's loaded with Hornady 124 grain XTP/HP.
Personally I really prefer carrying my S&W Mod 19 Combat Magnum 2 1/2". But alas. The Kimber UCC II (.45 ACP) hides better in the summer...
By The Way...That video doesn't show that 45-70 with any more recoil than my Colt SAA...Must have down loaded it a bit...

I have four sons (40, 38, 36 and 34). And one daughter (37). She's about the same as your daughter except 5' 4". The boys don't like the recoil of my Colt SAA but she likes it loaded hot and heavy...So I can relate...
By The Way...The boys are all over 6'.

That Hawg 9.........Well...........it’s a 9mm !!! Gonna carry a 1911 carry a real 1911 !!! |
It's a micro-compact, hi-cap CCW on a SA 1911 type platform.
It also shoots +P, same ME as a .45 ACP, well, per the SAAMI sheet anyways.
In Ca we can get them in 10rd cap. Ever carry a 10rd Gov model?
I'd take this lil Hawg in a second over any DA hi-cap or a Gov model for CCW/Instructor use. It's dinky w/ a fat grip and flat rips. Do some reading on it and you may be pleasantly suprised!
I have a decent vintage 1911 Gov model in my sights right now and for the same price I can get more bang for less bucks with the Para. IF I can get one that is.... jeez this political climate.
This aint yer father's 9mm.
