BTW I picked up 300 1X fired 45 auto cases at range. All were nice and shiny with red sealant on the primers. I also found out that both ammo shops here haven't been able to restock 45 colt. Good thing I ordered some cases.

Ooooh- good find. Love getting once fired still warm. At my outdoor place I'll ask hey, want your brass? after seeing he's got a shiny new box of factory stuff, then stand behind with my shirt tail out catching them or the broom handy and scoop 'em up. Still warm shiny new brass...mmmmmmmmm... Very Happy

Yep...the days when I bought 7,000 nice and shiny, once-fired military "match" brass cases (brass...not a steel case in the bunch and longer ago than I like to admit) are long gone and not likely to ever be seen again. Even with giving a couple thousand to my son when he started loading for his .45, I have enough to last until I am gone. With the low pressure of the old .45 brass lasts almost forever and is more likely to be lost to those pesky "grass gremlins" on the range than wear out.
