I think you are overlooking the idea and fact that the electoral college can give the election to a man the people did not vote in to office!!!!!!!

The Electoral College is as American as the "United States".
Unlike Canada where the Provinces are separate entities at the will of the Federal Government the American States are supposed to be semi-independent from Federal interference.
As such the states vote as a whole for the president of the United States verses the people voting for the president of America.
Eliminating the Electoral college would just be one more nail to the coffin of States rights that started in 1861.

Silly me, I thought we lost our States rights in the 1930s and 40s......
The "last nail in the coffin was the "American citizen" ammendment.
The States lost their status as "independent States" with Lincoln.

Yes, and now we have a Florida dem who is offering a bill to build internment camps to hold "enemies of the state" to be used by homeland security. I have never been so afraid for our country in my life!!!!!!

How nice.
Tax, and, repress Responsible Citizens.
Yet- the only one's that do not have to register are the scumbags that aint supposed to have guns, and, we all know how many rights they have now and how they get their guns.
How in the heck all this is supposed to curtail gun related crimes is (still) beyond me.
Argh. I hope (I'm sure) Wayne and the Boy's are all over this.

You know internment/concentration camps in the USA and Canada have been used since what the early 1800's first on Native Americans, then on German, Austrian, and Japanese living in and around North America?
Its nothing new and nothing to be afraid about really. Relax, have a cold beer or some sweet tea and enjoy life. The Government is not out to get you.

Not hardly!!!! They want to curtail freedoms, take our guns, butcher babies, raise taxes, and generally increase government influence. I don't see anything conservative about any of that!

Vint,
And they say the EXACT same things when they say things such as the right side of the political spectrum are saying that "the man is keeping us down!" by removing their freedoms supposedly.

I am not talking about politicians who want office and all that goes with it, I am strictly talking liberals and conservatives. I don't trust any politician as he/she will usually not be too bashful about trying to sound good to attract voters!!!!!! I am a conservative who doesn't like either party and at my age I will not likely be convinced to change my attitudes. Sir Winston said that at age 20 any man with a heart was a liberal, but by age 40 any man with a mind is a conservative!! Well said Sir Winston!!!!!!!! All things conservative are not great and wonderful and all things liberal are not evil. WE conservatives are not just about money. I see as many rich liberals as I do conservatives, Bill Gates, George Soros, and many others. I am not a wealthy man and most of the folks I know who think this way are not either.

Speaking strictly for myself:
Reagardless of affliliation, the way I see it?
As long as Biden and Billary are in the House, Sportsmen, in general, should be concerned, very concerned. You like riding, hunting, etc?
They HATE it.
Out here? Anti's lobby to close trail systems, then, the land is auctioned off for development. Oh- and the reasons for closures? Environmental impact. Hmmm...tract housing don't impact the environment, do it. Right.
The closer houses get, the less places to hunt/shoot/ride. Anti's don't care, they like the money and 'country living'.
When's the last time your gun shop's been this barren stock wise, for this long, as now? Nothing's there and nothing's coming. Orders are not being filled. Everything is a 'critical back-order'. Speed loaders, on critical back-order? I don't like shopping on-line- 3 shops locally: bare shelves since November. Stuff's been ordered, it is just not coming, at least as of yet.
And when something does come? It's gone just that fast.
And so the 'panic-buy of 2008' lingers on.
Gee- wonder why.
Will things get back to 'normal'? Maybe/Probably.
But Sand is for cat-boxes, not sticking one's head in.
See Vint's sig line. Do nothing? Have nothing.
