I can hardly wait.................. !!!!!!!!!!! That Elk I got last fall sure is good and tender. Elk hunting is my favorite of all hunting by a big margin. Any one else here that hunts Elk? Smile

It is addicting alright, trust me. The first time I went was about 30 years ago and we camped back in the woods (only way in was with ATV's) 12 - 15 miles or so from any and all traffic. The bulls were bugling so much at night and so close that we couldn't sleep. I have only missed 2 seasons since then and let me tell you that hurt. I would rather hunt Elk then anything else. I wish you luck on your hunt but I find just being there is enough for me, even if I don't tag one. Tagging one is a bonus the way I see it.

I used to hunt elk, but the cost of an out of state license is getting to be a tad too much these days.
You all could just send old Eric some steaks once in a while though. Very Happy

I think that my next trip out west will be for antelope. I have never shot one, and the license isn't a bank account breaker.

I hate heat, bugs, and summer people.

Elyboy, being from Mora until I realized there was more to hunt than whitetails I moved west in 72. If you're wantingto hunt antelope you've got until 15 march to apply here in Wy. The buck tags are $272 +-. But and doe/fawn is less than $50. and can have several. There are many units that are 100% draw. Remember does are female and they are just like women! There is a unit set aside just for Muzzle loaders and handguns. It is a little harder to draw and starts 20th august. I have a bud from Wis. coming and a niece and son from Mora coming. The season will start around the middle of Sept. and go until the last of Oct. Think it over.
