It's imported by Firearms Int. Corp. from Washingto DC.
Looks like a Mauser. It's a kal. .270
The marking on the barrel says s3301 F. I. C.
Is 600 dollars a fair price?:? Confused
To my opinion the gun is over 30 years old because Firearms Int. Corp. was taken over by Garcial Arms Comp. in 1970.
Please help with some relevant information.

I don't think I'd pay $600 for it, but that's just me. I don't like to fork out over $500 for a used gun. You could check out some of the auction sites and see if you could find a similar one for sale. What kind of scope is on it? Here's some auction sites if you don't already know about them:

www.gunbroker.com
www.gunsamerica.com
www.auctionarms.com

Hope this helps you out

Cody

Thanks Cody for the sites and the advice not to pay over 500 dollar for a used rifle. My problem however is that I live in Belgium Europe and the rate of the EURO is very high at this moment. Rifles are genarally quite expensive over here. I think I'll stay with small game hunting. I'm going to finish my champagne and smoked goosebreast. It's New Years Eve and the bells will ring within a few hours. Is there anyone online with more info?
Thanks again and a happy New Year!!

Ev.

I'm sorry I didn't realize that you weren't in the states. I would defiantly do some searching around before I bought it. I don't really know a lot about older rifles, so it may actually be a hell of a deal. Have a good new year!!

everkhof,

Welcome to the Forum.

I believe I have the same rifle and it was made by F.N. in Belgium. I got mine off a used gun rack in the late 1970s and still have it. It is a long commercial action and my rifle is now a .280 Remington. As for paying $500.00 for a used rifle, it depends because some may be worth it like a pre-64 Model 70 Winchester. I have paid that much a few times. All the best...
Gil

Gil,

Thanks for your reaction.
Nice to know you have the same kind of rifle.
Mine is a .270.
Wether it's an imported Sako from Finnland or a FN from Belgium I'm trying to figger out. The marking only says F I C s330X
Maybe you can email a picture of your rifle to me so I can compare?

Are you still hunting with this rifle? Sniper

"F I C" stamped rifles at least in Canada & the US is a importers mark meaining "Firearms International Corp." They sold commercial FN Mausers.

Thanks Dimitri

How come a company imports FN mausers to U.S and Canada and this rifle is turning up in The Netherlands?
Do you have any idea when F I C stopped importing? That might give me an idea of how old the showed rifle is. Or is ther a differend way to find out the age of a weapen? The marks and stamps are unknown to oldguns.net

Late 1960's or early 1970's perhaps.

As for it getting in the Netherlands perhaps its simply a contract overrun that FN had to sell in Europe ?? Confused
