MC223,

You only list the rifle primers - do you have any data on the pistol primers or the site where you got the info so we can fill in the blanks?

Thanks mc223, this is very interesting info to know.

When I was pistol shooting competitively I always used Federal Primers. It was always considered amongst the pistol shooters that the Federal were a softer primer. I suppose in one respect they are, well not really softer, just a thinner cup hence a lighter hammer fall would set it off.

As PaulS asked....do you have a link to the site where this info can be found?

Thanks mate.

Cheers, Vince

a word of warning on thin primers.

i recently had issues with thin winchester primers in my milsurps.

the strong firing pins punch holes in the primer at under max loadings. in my enfields im not very worried because they have overpressure exhaust ports {the hole on the side of the reciever}

on modern weapons this might be dangerous.
