I don't know much about the .223, but if your rifle is a semi-automatic you'll probably require small base dies. Every semi-automatic rifle I've owned called for them, some lever actions also. Best ...

You can get smaller cans of dessicant from Sinclair. They're ideal for areas where you store ammo and reloading equipment. If you store stuff in drawers just put the small cans of dessicant right in ...

I enjoyed taking the quiz. It serves as quite a refresher course for some of us. I agree with Dallan. Some modifications would be necessary depending on what part of the country you're hunting, but ...

I picked up a book of short hunting stories recently, "Classic Hunting Stories," and boy is it a winner. A real thriller is, "The Hunt for the Man-eaters of Tsavo." It was recently released as a mov ...

Hello Varmonter,

I don't have the .204 yet, but will have soon. I have it's big brother, the .222Rem. Mag. which uses the same case. This was used in benchrest
competetion for some time. My .22 ...

I'm still load testing my Remington 700BDL in .25-06. I'm getting there, but it's a slow process. I picked up a can of IMR7828 but haven't had a chance to get to the range and test it. It seems to ...

Here in Canada the winters are long, miserable and quite cold. I go through a lot of oil as a result. To be sure I take a couple days in mid winter and oil everything again. Best wishes.

I still use topographic maps, but am a geographer by training and know how to read them. If you don't just remember the blue lines indicate water, usually rivers. Isolines close together idicate the ...

I wouldn't advise getting something big and bulky. You're probably better off with something light but still big so you can add layers beneath it if necessary. The key is to add clothes in layers. ...

I read "The Varmint Hunter", but that's the only one. Most of the others are riddled with articles that don't interest most of us, about calibers that very few of us shoot, and rifles that few of us ...

I don't know about Noslers in this caliber because I use Speer 160gr. PSP almost exclusively, and with excellent results. I push them along with IMR4831 63.0grs. In my Remington 700BDL it gives me 2 ...

The next time you're at a range see if you can shoot at the bench of someone who has one set up. You're not going to be certain until you shoot with a chronograph. If you're below max then you proba ...

My problem with nickel cases is they're terribly tough on the reloading dies, and they dull your neck bevelling tool. I don't use them at all. Best wishes.

As I get older I appreciated the extra agnification for hunting smaller critters. I'll use 4x12 on my larger calibers for ...
