I picked up a copy of Hodgdon's 2011 Annual Manual and there is an article in it about the .30 AR cartridge that has tweaked my interest. Has anyone here tried it yet?

I've been looking at it myself with interest. I haven't seen one on the shelf yet. I was impressed that it could get 110gr Barnes up to 3000 fps. Other than being able to buy factory ammo, I'm not sure it will do better than some of the others out there like 6.5 WSSM or 6.5 BRX, particularly at longer ranges. Also, 6.8 SPC with 85gr Barnes has been showing lots of knock-down power, especially with 16-inch barrels, and you get more bullets in the magazine because they are not single stacked. The other thought I have when I look at the .30 AR case is - if I really want power, I should go for the .450 Bushmaster or .458 SOCOM.

Choices, choices - aren't they wonderful?!?!
