Fencing I read a couple of other forums beside this one and I've never seen any reference to mink. Since the American mink was released here in the '50s by the tree huging brigade they have become a huge pest. They hunt the rivers killing any waterfowl, they've practicaly wiped out the water vole and if one get's in a pheasant pen ,well watch out! Don't you guys hunt them in the US?

Trapped quite a few of them... and most of those with "live traps". I would catch them then take them down to the local mink ranch and give'em back. He would usually give me a tanned pelt for every couple I returned.

Very seldom have I ever ran into true wild ones.

People are so anti fur these days that it's easier to just dispose of the bodies. Un like our native polecat which is about the same sise mink are abroad during the day so I get a chance of a shot now and again.

Still a fair amount of mink trapping done in PA.They will clean out a chicken house in a hurry also.Kill a chicken every night and eat very little of it.When I was a boy at home we had young ducks in the back yard, one day I happened to look out the window, saw a mink running towards house, grabbed my 22mag and killed it 10 yards from ducks.

Saw a program today on a kid's channel about our declining water vole population. All they did was blame bad land management and loss of habitat. They didn't dare tell the little dears tha it is the mink that is killing them off. Do the tree huggers think that if we don't talk about the savagery of wildlife it won't happen?
