You should see the bad guys running, piling one on top of the other trying to get away.

Well done mate...abut time someone stood up to the juvenile criminals and did something about them, showed them the error of their ways...the judicial system sure as hell isn't.

Now watch the "victim" lawyers have a go at him because he was shooting and they were running away and therefore not a threat.
It will be interesting to see what happens, if he did it here , they'd have the gallows ready for him.
I wholeheartedly agree with his actions, but question his marksmanship, good on him though.

Unfortunately Pete, you are correct mate. I was always taught that "dead men don't tell lies", so yeah...the old chap needs to brush up on his marksmanship.

oh what a pity we have become so "civilised" what a giant leap backwards it is. if every shop keeper had a short s/s 12ga under the counter methinks robbery would be a thing of the past pretty quick smart. yip the baddies may shoot the shop keeper first but good luck getting out the shop door cause the neighbours would be waiting!!!

I agree wholeheartedly Joe...but unfortunately the bleeding heart do-gooders and the bottom feeder lawyers will only see the old chap trying to shoot the dirtbags in the back, when in their eyes they would not be a threat. It's wrong, but that's the way things are these days mate.

Elvis. Unfortunately, the bad guys will just shoot first to make sure they don't have to face that shotgun. Euthanize all who commit gun crimes is one solution. In Canada the old guy is cooked. First he had the pistol on his person and was not at an accredited range. Then he fired at the robbers apparently without warning them. He may be able to argue use of deadly force in defence of himself or others if a judge or jury accepts the crooks intended to shoot someone. Finally, he kept firing when they were running away.

I respect life. I won't kill to protect things. However, if someone is a threat to me or others they must be neutralized. If that means they die I have no problems with making it happen. The most basic human right is to defend oneself and ones family. In a civilized society that right is extended to mutual defence. Regardless the consquences I will not be a sheep, quaking in a corner hoping the wolf will pass me by or take another. History has shown that fewer sheep means fewer wolves.

I heard that the conservative government is trying to rectify that canadian situation by trying to pass a law that would allow the firing of a warning shot, but not a shot aimed at the culprit. In 1993 I questioned Allen Rock, the federal justice minister and a liberal, at the time about home intrusion and he told me that in such a case I should run out the back door and go to the neighbor and call 911.

He'll be OK - they were in commission of a crime, so they can't sue him under state law.

If this happened more often & was publicised, there would be a BIG downturn in robberies.
