OK, so here's an update. Went on line to Cabela's to check out the Leupold® VX-2 Riflescope 6-18X40M AO LRV DPLX, and Warne Quick-Detach 1" Matte Rings – Low. Price was higher than a couple other places but wanted an excuse to drive the 45 miles to the store. So, I called the store to confirm that the components were in stock and was assured that they were. Son-in-law and I got up the next morning and made the drive. Guess what? Nope neither part in stock. Came home and immediately contacted Cabela's expressing my disappointment as succinctly and expletive free as possible. Explained that I was unlikely to ever patronize their establishment again. Placed an order with Midway, ($474 vs Cabela's at $612, saving $138), e-mailed a copy of the order to Cabela's customer service department. So now the scope and rings are here and will be trying to finish it up today, so maybe I can kill some paper later this week. And, then you know what them bastards at Cabela's did, they sent me two $50 gift cards, and a nice letter asking me to come back, and to please try not to make their employees cry.

well that was good comeback on thier behalf...... stihl NZ did same with me...got a saw serviced and new bar n chain out of it.
$100 worth of 6.5 creedmore ammo wouldnt go astray methinks.

Hey Pumpkinslinger, yeah I know and do it sometimes, but sometimes I like to go to the store too, Sometimes seeing and holding something reminds about how badly I need it and such was the case in driving an hour to Cabela's just looking for an excuse to buy more stuff.

Les, I'm with you there. I like to hold something before spending a lot of money on it. I do order bullets or accessories online sometimes. I try to pick up powder & primers locally.

Been unable to do much with it since my last post www.huntingnut.com/ind...c&t=12997. To busy with farm stuff and wanting to get the Howa 308, and the Savage 7MM Mag that have yet to be fired out on the range.
