I just got an answer from LabRadar and there is supposedly password protection to keep your lab radar safe from other users. I will likely get the update because it also fixes some minor bugs in the firmware. I don't have a smart phone but I do have a computer with blue tooth so I might be able to connect without the cable. So far I have just been plugging the micro media card into the slot on my computer and downloading the information to my spreadsheet and saving the files. There is a TON of information in those files.
I really like my lab radar! It is like owning a hundred chronographs that you place between the muzzle and your target each time you use it, plus it provides major and minor power factors and a host of other information.

Along with very accurate data! I love mine, too!

That's good to know. Thanks for the update Paul. I'll have to look into password protecting it.
Did the folks at LabRadar expand on what all the "minor bug fixes" were regarding?

no, it was just a short answer to a quick question. The list of bug fixes might be listed on their website.

Just saw on their website that a new Firmware version (1.2.2) has been released. Supposed to be a new mobile app out too.
I still haven't updated mine to enable the Bluetooth on it, but with the way I set mine up, I'm not really sure I need the data displayed on my phone. Does the app also let you store the data on the mobile device or just view it?

I updated mine to 1.2.2. It took a blink of an eye and I didn't see all the cues that were described in the read-me file. I don't have a smart phone so never looked into the app. The unit itself gives me all I need.

Oh, last time out the unit missed detection of several shots. I think I traced it down to the unit getting about 10 to 15 degrees off the barrel line of sight. I realigned and didn't drop one after that.

Just because...I downloaded and installed the FW update and also installed the app on my phone. It doesn't appear to save the data to a mobile device, but will let you view all of it.
I did think of an instance this could really come in handy. Say you're at the range and have a friend spotting your shots for you from the next bench over. He could mark your shot impacts on the PointBlank mobile app (subtle hint) and record your shot velocities in PointBlank at the same time.
