For those that may not know Huff Po is a anti-gun liberal site !!!
The title of the article “ Here's What Happens When You Try To Make Or Sell A 'Safer' Gun” should be Here's What Happens When government tries to mandate new law.
They then ask the question “Smart guns can only be fired by authorized users. Why aren't they more popular?”
Simple answer……They’re unreliable, not to mention it’s only available in .22LR and it cost about 3 times that of a Glock, M&P or XD.
In the article they talked about how the pro-gun side boycotted Smith and Wesson for attempting to make guns safer in 2000 by comparison to being welcomed in the 1880‘s. “When Smith & Wesson introduced a "child-proof" gun in 1880, the public responded enthusiastically, buying more than half a million between 1886 and 1940. “ The problem with this is the so called "child-proof" gun was never promoted as such. The Lemon Squeezer as they came to be known as were concealed carry hammerless guns that S&W was trying a new approach with in design. A design that they dropped and tried again years later and dropped again.
What they did not tell us in the article is how the boycott came to be. Not a word about an American company with it’s heritage being sold to foreign interest. And more importantly the sell out of that company making a deal with the Clinton anti gun agenda.
They then had a comparison of the like to Colt. If anyone has been paying any attention to Colt they know their internal troubles far out weigh anything they have done to upset gun owners. Their bankruptcy was brought on by miss management and poor decision making.
Later in the article they ask “If smart gun technology is unreliable or undesirable, why not let it fail on its own?”
That’s what most of us would probably do if it weren’t for the New Jersey mandate.
They answered their own question and are too stupid with their ideology too have any clue as to the ramifications to the forced mandate. A mandate that law enforcement is exempt from. Again, never asking the question why they’re exempt.
So once again Huff Po’s attempt at journalism is a complete failure…… sorry HP you got it wrong again !!!

A free people ought not only to be armed and disciplined, but they should have sufficient arms and ammunition to maintain a status of independence from any who might attempt to abuse them, which would include their own government.
