Spruce Grouse. Yuck

Sometimes your just hungry. This liver tasting bird improves when marinated in orange juice and Crown Royal whiskey.

IMO Very Happy

Interesting, I've never really noticed a liver taste with Spruce Grouse... or blues for that mater. They've always had a very mild taste and love them baked in pot-pies.

Dunno about you guys-I got blues and ruffle where I live,and they taste pretty good baked with a little basting and spices, or flowered and fried,or even cooked them on a stick over an open fire.Wild eats is hard to beat in my book! Very Happy

The Ruffies are a fine tasting bird, I do enjoy their availability and sustenance. Maybe its the quality of the spruce needles available to the Spruce ruffs in the Boreal forest that gives them the unique taste.

I always do the two step with the birds before eating. One step on the left wing, one step on the right, grab your partner by the legs and pull.

Everything tastes better when you're marinated in Crown Royal. Save the orange juice for the Absolut.
