I can't decide whether to laugh because you're jawing with us or you have been sucked into a generic sushi mind-set of SoCal. Sashimi is the Japanese word for raw fish and applies to any fish sliced and eaten raw, Tuna, Yellow-tail, Salmon, Mackerel, etc. When sashimi, and other cooked creature, are combined with a a rice ball, one now has sushi. Sushi rolls combine multiple meats, rice, vegtables, cream cheese, etc. to provide an explosion of flavor that is hard to beat!

slimjim I grew up on the West Coast. From Seattle to San Diego. I have traveled the Pacific from the Bering Sea to almost Austalia. From the U.S.A. to Japan. I now live in the Heart Land. Fresh sea foods are "fresh frozen" How I do miss "FRESH" sea foods. [I prefer my food cooked].

Sashmi is served raw. Sushi can be raw, smoked, or cooked. I would only allowed the cooke sushi to be served it you come. You won't even have to shine your boots!
