Gov. Culver sign it into law last Thursday morning at aprroximately between 9am and 10am Central Time!!!! It is going to take effect on the First of January 2011!!! Now you guys will have to brush up your CCW and use of deadly force laws for Iowa if you choose to come through after te first of the new year!!! Thanks to the NRA getting in on the act this year it happened! It was going to happen eventually but they helped to make a rerality much sooner! Now it is up us CCW permit holders to be diligent and not make a problem or we will loose what we have just gained come next session.

Arron, congrats! I wouldn't worry about CCW holders holding up their end. I don't have the exact figures but CCW holders have extremely low numbers for problems with the law.

Now... What are you going to carry and how? Wink

Hey Wiersy, when are you going to make it to Forest Lake for some shooting.
My Pistol League is in full gear, and running every Thursday night, but we can shoot anytime that you get around this neck of the woods.

I have heard you have a very nice range down there. I think I have some VA appointments coming up so maybe I can take the long way home and check out the range. Razz

Well the problem is there is some information floating out there about open carry, this is what I was kinda of referring too.

As to what I am going to carry, well I still pretty much have every thing I did before, I have had a CCW permit since I was 22 I am 37 now. Mainly though I carry one of these most of the time.

Glock G29 10mmAuto
Taurus PT92 9x19mm
FEG PA63 9x18mmMakarov

I have REALLY come to like the PA63; ALOT!!!! And Mak ammunition is still running less than $15US a box of 50 for 95gr FMJ or JHP's. And with a 20 percent power gain over the .380ACP in the same platform. I am EXTREMELY glad I bought a Mak round pistol and not a .380ACP!!! Give this round a serious look!!! Well worth it!!!
