Its a British Envoy rifle. Made with a Lee-Enfield No.4 action and a hammer forged "fish scale" barrel. Chambered from the factory in 308Win. Smile

It is my FIRST non-semi-automatic Firearm. Cool

Very Happy Very Happy

I am I always wanted (and still want a 30-06) but it was hard to pass up. Smile

My next rifle will be a 30-06 in a Remington M700. Smile

I think I may take it rabbit hunting with me next time I am out. Assuming my hunting buddies don't bug me about wanting to shoot a rabbit with one. Laughing

May be a bit more than is necessary for a rabbit. Just about right for a Jackalope. Very Happy

How I figure it, a rabbit is too small to have the bullet expand on me any real amount by the time its already hit the ground. Laughing

Wow- weird. I was just reading an old American Rifleman night before last and it had an atricle about the LE and the SMLE. Pretty in depth too if I recall correctly.

Nice ride, piece of history too.... man I bet that thing's a hoot to shoot!

Git sum and git back to us!

These warm winter days are always good for outdoor work. For hunting, the deer don't really get to moving around until the temperatures get down in the 30s or 40s. The way it works down here is a norther will blow in and drop the temperatures down to the 30s or 40s at night, with 50s or 60s during the day. This will last for about 2 days, then it will jump up to the 50s or 60s, at night, 70s or low 80s during the day, for about 4 or 5 days. This is the normal winter cycle in South Texas. Currently we have 20 to 30 mph north wind, with temperatures in the 40s. Bad day for outdoor target practice. Of course our summers are always hot with 78 to 90 percent humidity. We have not had any appreciable rainfall since June, the year before last. Think about that for a while. I think I got about 3 inches last year, in 1/10th inch to 1/4 inch increments. You take the good with the bad, no matter where you live.
