Am surprised after three pages of arguing reloading safety, noone could come up with a practical and safe sugestion such as AA5744.........

This is a topic I have done some reading on (it is a short read). My reason being working up loads that my sons can shoot in a hunting rifle, while enjoying their introduction to the sport. Check the Speer Manual Volume 13. It does list several "reduced loads" for the 300WBY. BIGGEST THING TO WATCH - POWDER TYPE. From what I understand the burn rate is CRITICAL ie. you cannot simply reduce your regular powder amount & expect safe pressures. You have to use the specific powders listed in teh manual.
