in order to be older and wiser
you first have to be young and dumb.
My all time favourite line from a movie is from "pointbreak"
older cop discussing young partners says "young dumb and full of cu#"
sort of sums it up nicely Ive always thought.

I am so sorry, next time nudge me with a p.m. I forget that 6.8. is an a.r. sometimes since it's got a scope on it. the feel is really weird, I am just not used to shooting a rifle that recoils like an a.r. with a scope on it, it is okay, probably work pretty good on anything around here, depending heavily on bullet choice and placement, but I still don't have enough rounds downrange to think I have it all figured out. Still working on some factory stuff I got from Midway on sale. I heard they were clearing out some s.s.a. stuff a while back and bought some 110g. sierra pro-hunters some of my fav's anyway. I have shot these in a .270 win and they work good in that so probably no suprises. 6.5Swiss? does that translate into 6.5 swede east of the myrtle's? once again I am so sorry. There is also some banter going around about large primer pockets and small primer pockets.

fnuser, thanks for checking in! I've heard tha the 85gr Barnes TSX is very potent, even in a 16-inch barrel. Makes good terminations of hogs and deer achieving muzzle velocities near 3000 fps. Keep us posted as you go.

Here is a good article describing attributes for building an accurate AR.
