Wow are these things hard to find or what???

This weekend I had to visit inlaws with the wife, I told her sure if we can hit a few stores on the way down for reloading supplies. 300 mile 1 way trip I hit several stores in several cities, found cans of RL19 which I bought, found a few boxes of 7mm 160grn Accubonds which I bought ... primers? NADA.

No-one seems to have any locally... online you cannot find'em either! Man if I could just round up 100 it would last me till I could pick up a 1000 count package.

Stupid things are this scarce. At least I got the powder and bullets I was needing though Smile

Too bad we are on either side of the 49th. I have a couple thousand and could lone you some.

They are hard to get here as well. I had a thousand on hand and a friend bought me another thousand in Alberta a few weeks ago. The store out there got a shipment in and they were all gone the same day.

A few days ago there were several thousand CCI BR-2 primers and other primers on the shelf in a local sporting goods store. I think they're starting to come back so should make their way to Utah eventually.

Thanks woods, return PM sent.

I posted my looking for 215's on a local state hunting site, I got a message from a guy that told me about a mom & pop store 5 blocks from where I work. I never knew it existed.

I just stopped off during my lunch break and wow... they have TONS of stuff in stock. I picked up 1000 215's and 1000 Large Rifle primers. They had alot of powder in stock too.

Awsome store, I will give them alot of business in the future!

Ya can't beat the old Mum and Dad stores. Some of their stock may get a little old sometimes, but one thing they usuall have is plenty of it.

Best part is the service...you simply can't beat it...always friendly and helpful...and they will usually bend over backwards to help.

Those Mum and Dad stores were the backbone of commerce until the big multi-nationals came into being.

Cheers, Vince

Dallan,

Just out of curiosity what was the mom & pop store? If it's in the SLC or Ogden area, I could recommend a few.

I was just at Gallenson's in SLC last week (my favorite local store). They had tons of Fed 215's in stock for $29.99 / 1,000. Not to mention Winchester, CCI, and Remington small pistol primers and large rifle (standard) primers. Even some small rifle primers which I don't use but haven't seen on the shelves in over a year regardless...

Dallan:

It appears that there is an abundance of Fed 215M primers in PA. You may want to check out some of the suppliers there.

One place to try is King's Shooters Supply in King of Prussia.

Primers starting to show up here in TX. Just saw small rifle this month - Remingtonn and CCI. The last time I saw Federal primers, however, was last March and I bought all they had (900).

Looks like it's time for a road trip to PA. I've been trying to get hold of FED 215's for a year now.
Thanks, Dallan, for the heads-up.
