A few weeks ago I picked up a neat little pistol that I am really liking more and more all the time. It is a PA-63 from FEG of Hungary.

Basically it is a PPK clone. The frame is made of .01Titanium mixed into aluminum. The slide and barrel are of course steel. I got it in 9x18mm(9mm Makarov).
I went with the MAK round becasue I can find it at all the shows I go too and with ammunition running about $11-14US for a box of 50 rounds it is still affordable to shoot regularly. I also found a spare mag from a PPK that fits and feeds good.

As well as a GALCO S.O.B. Holster for it along with a Don Hume spare magazine carrier. Magazines hold 7 rounds and recoil is managable though after a couple of magazines the webbing of your hand will slightly be telling you about it. It hits harder than I would have thought. Wolf makes some aftermarket springs that I am going to get to tame down the recoil and lighten the D/A trigger pull and I am reading that this makes a huge improvement!

After about 100 rounds the only problem that I have noticed was the case mouth would sometimes hang up on the inside of the front of the magazine body when a cartridge was fed from the mag. A little DREMEL work and a little arcing into the body and no more problems!!!! I can hit about anything that would be considered "a lethal threat encounter hit" I want to at "reasonable" distance.

And off the table at the show with three boxes of ammunition it was about $283 and some change!!!!!! Of course I have my Iowa Permit To Carry.
Us firearms users are the ones who are going to follow the rules dontcha know it?!!!

Oh yeah the left grip panel does stick out a bit and that can make carrying it in the SOB holster a bit tough when you are in the car. So a different set of grips might be in order.

For the money I am pretty happy with this little pistol!!! If you see one give it a second look and don't be afraid of the 9mmMak round.

Later all and yeap I am still alive!!!!!

I've had one of those for a few years and it is a good pistol. The spring kit really helps to make it a lot better and you can get grips at marschalgrips.com/ that are excellent from what I have heard.

I have to agree w\ whittling I own a pp super in 9x18 ultra and have often compared the two. mostly the Polish version which cosmetically is pretty close, but I like alloy receivers also. alot easier on your pants.

9x18 ultra???? I am not sure of this. Could you give further details?

I went and looked at those grip panles and they are really "snazzy" I might have to order a set when some things get taken care of!!!!

Also would like to know just how much of the design is "walther" and if the video for the PPK will work for it. I have the AGI SKS video and thought it was VERY well done.
