Do you know what happened this week back in 1850, 158 years ago?

California became a state.
The State had no electricity.
The State had no money.
Almost everyone spoke Spanish.
There were gunfights in the streets.

So basically, it was just like California today; except back then, women had real breasts and the men didn't hold hands.

wtf Confused Confused Confused

Cheers, Vince

ROFL Vince, that's a good one.

Regression....Sometimes its not so bad....I believe that progress can sometimes be detrimental to a society (i.e. you can out-grow your water supply). Gunfights in the streets...that keeps the riff-raff population down.

Lets not forget
Dirt Roads
No Water
And lets add
The state has no money, people are being paid with IOUs and so are tax refunds.
The school system sucked, no money to pay them.
Did I mention that I'm a little ticked about the state having no money. Mad Mad

Shocked rdncktink-"and they call it progress"to try to allow in so many illegals"for the good of the economy".Funny how this nation flourished for so many years without allowing so many illegals to drain our finances. Now they seem to have the "helping hands" of big brother to let their kids have an education, health care that most residents can't get,and they have even found out what welfare is!And please don't tell me how much they contribute to our system-when I see the "gangsta"population in parts of the portland area make it unsafe for the police to move about.I'm sure cali is much worse in many areas. Mad

When I dream of the good old days, I dream of the exact thing you seem to detest. Where every person was responsible for his or her well-being....carved their place in the world. I live on a dirt road and provide my own water and I ask the state for nothing. I can also use the barter system to survive. Ah...the good old days.

OntheLasGallinas

I'm with ya all the way on that.

Did you notice that all the illegal aliens are, how do I say this- Oh well the best I can do is under-educated". Wow, I did a PC statement.

And why do the liberals promote open borders, so more under-educated folks can come into the States and when we finally give them all amnesty, then they can all vote for the Democrats.

Hallijulia, we're saved.

What are you trying to say Lester...that they are, "as thick as two short planks", "dumb as a box of hammers" maybe, or "about as smart as a cat in a Dog Pound".

I am impressed though with your diplomacy mate. Very Happy Very Happy

I hate to say it Vint2, but we are.

We continuously let our government ignore the of, by, and for the people thing.

We need to take back control of the Gov.

This is no longer funny, and I was going to say that the way this thread is going it no longer belongs in this forum group, but I guess the Gov. still qualifies as a joke. Mad
