A very Merry Christmas and a Prosperous and Happy New Year to all my surrogate family and friends on Hunting Nut.
Enjoy the company of your family whilst celebrating the birth of Jesus on this, the Holiest day of the Christian calendar.
Also, here's hoping Santa is real kind to each and every one of us as well.
Gelan...great photo of us together with Santa mate...but I don't remember you wearing a hat.
Cheers, Vince

Ho Ho Ho! I'm really getting the Christmas feeling. Its a little after 4:30 am and I had to get up and turn on the Air Conditioning. It was too hot to sleep comfortably! Oh well, we'll get our two weeks of winter (a day here and a day there) over the next couple of months. Don't y'all freeze to death. D, If I could take a little of your snow, I would. If it shows an inch, the entire area shuts down, schools are canceled, it's a mess. Nobody knows how to drive in show, we don't have any highway maintenance equipment to handle snow.

Enjoy...I know I did.
White Christmas
Silver Bells
Silent Night
edit: I came across this after I had posted the above as was absolutely mesmerised by it, it bought a tear to the eye I must admit...I think you will enjoy it too. This lady's voice is captivating.

You just about covered the city of Toronto as well. Dumb city drivers cannot handle bad weather nor can they handle much snow before the roads are "impossible" to drive on cause of bad drivers blocking up the road (once there is about 3" of fresh stuff on the ground). Schools shut down shortly after and alittle after that Toronto calls in the Military to remove the snow.

Not here... we have about 8 tandem axle trucks with snow blades on the front and a wing blade on the side, and that just at my depot, 60 mile area or less in all directions. Then there are more of the same. We are serious about snow removal. I'll see if I can find a pic for you.

1895,
We have some big trucks here too for the snow but seems to me Toronto has "issues" when it comes to dealing with Canadian weather.

Snow around here makes the front page of the newspapers. Kindof sad when they have to tell people, hay look it snowed - and they live there. They let the kids out for a little while at the local high schools so they could go see the snow since the school has no widows.
About 6 years ago we got enough snow the stick and NO ONE knew how to drive in it including the cops. It was really sad that the same people who go skiing in the mountains can't drive in it in the valley. For us the rain is normal but when those from down south comes up there are so many accendents becasue people can't understand that rain means slick roads, slick roads mean drive slower.
It's the the mid 40's today and everyone is all bundled up like the end is coming. (I was in a sweater thank you and not a heavy jacket.)

Won't all those snow plow trucks scratch all yer white lines you just painted? Yer not out there screamin' at the drivers to lift the blades at least another inch?
I am really amazed here in Missouri that the drivers actually know how to drive in this stuff. Of course we have to know how to drive on ice too...

You are right Bushy, the plow trucks do take some of the painted lines off in places, but that's the way it goes. I guess another way to think of it is, job creation for the next year. hahahahaha

We eliminated that problem here....
The same guy that paints the lines plows the roads...
