You guys are making very good points about the "wild life". I guess thats why I only visited your fine country. Here in Texas we have a few bad critters as well but the majority of them let you know they are around before they attack. Now me and snakes have an understanding......they understand if I see them they DIE!!! Its a simple understanding that works real well for me. Now the sea life and I haven't come to that agreement yet but the lawyers are always working on the contracts LOL. Therefore I keep my butt on land and watch the pretty girls. That also works real well for ME!!!!!
Little story about a trip to one of the small islads in your fine country. Was working on a unmanned platform near Thevanard Island of the coast of WA and the cooks would send us a cooler of food for lunch every day. The left overs would be feed to the sea life at the end of the day. For some reason the cooks thought we (10 guys) would eat 40 lbs of chicken every day so we had lots of left overs to "chum" up the big tooth sea life. The 3rd day we were there this HUGE tiger shark decided to stop by for a snack. He would only eat chicken......wouldn't touch lunch meat of any kind. He stayed around there until we finish about 10 days later eating all the chicken we would send his way. I made it a point to not touch the chicken for fear I might fall overboard and he would think I was the largest chicken to hit the water...........which as far as I am concerned would be true in respect to him LOL.
The rigs on the north side of the "island" stopped doing man overboard drills because the sharks would eat the dummy before they could get to it and it wrecked moral on the rigs. The thought was if you hit the water GOD was the only one that could save you!!!!!
THATS WHY I KEEP MY WHITE ASS OUT OF THE SALT WATER!!!!!!!
