hi again,have just come into possession of two old family guns
12 gauge double barrel shotgun. maker Dickson &sons.. serial # less than 5000.
.22 self loading maker browning .. serial # lower than 185000.
can anyone help in finding out the age of these guns ?

If the shotgun maker is John Dickson and Son, then it could definitely be worth a very healthy sum.

thank you, i just took it to a gun smith and he dated it with a book called "english irish and scottish firearms makers " by A merwyn carey
its date range was 1820 - 1850 , i would love to now get a copy of that book. any ideas where or who would sell it??

hi vince,i wanna buy another gun and not sure as to a .223 or .204.i need to get as much info as possible in all aspects of these cal.effective ranges,noise,flatness,etc etc.also what is the ballistic coeff on 17hmr 17gr?
