When I bought my new house I made sure that I found one with a shop. I got real lucky and found one with two shops and an apartment. I let the kids have the apartment so their toys would stay out of my way. I use one of my shops for storage and the other one for my reloading. I haven't had a problem with heat. If it is really cold I just stay inside and watch hunting shows.

Since I'm a bachelor, I can do what I damn well please with the joint.

My hobby shop is in an 11 x 17 former bedroom, which is just slightly smaller than the master bedroom.

It has my universal gym, reloading gear, gun safe and archery gear in it. It's heated or cooled with the rest of the house.

For right now my reloading is going to be in my sister-in-laws basement. At least until I GET OUT OF THIS DINKY APARTMENT. Not that I don't get along really good with her but I hope I get the house I want soon.

I just built my house 2 years ago and have a 8'X10' room off the side of the basement. The cap on the room serves as the front porch and the room itself is where my reloading, gun safe, and cleaning are done. My wife tells everyone it is a storm shelter, I guess I'll let her in there when a tornado is headed for us, providing she doesn't mess up my stuff. Burning a light bulb 24/7 in the room(heat lamp in winter) keeps things pretty dry, plus I run a golden rod in the safe.

I'm just getting started, but found room in the corner of the garage to set up a press. The garage is attached to the house, and the heating equipment is located there, so I shouldn't have any problems with heat. Coolong will be a different matter though.

My reloading bench is in our living room, which became the computer/library/reloading room shortly after we moved in 20+ years ago. My wife is after me to move the bench out to a separate building but my concern is humidity, not temperature. NC can be kinda humid. Are any of you who have your gear in an unairconditioned area having any humidity problems?

You have been married for over 20yrs Pumpkin Man.
This gives you the right to ignore what your wife says.
Keep it where it's at, and avoid rusting reloaders etc.
You can always add on to your house for a reloading room. Very Happy
Mention that idea to the War Dept. and she will be happy where you have it now. Laughing

If you want anymore wife advice, feel free to P.M. me.
I will be happy to put you in the Dog House in short order. Mad Mad Mad Mad Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad

It's what I do best tracker.
Just got done cleaning a couple of pistols that I have forgot to tell my wife about purchasing.
It also pays to have a big yellow stripe going down my back at times also. Shocked

Boy, I'm bored. Was going to duck hunt today, but high winds and thunder is keeping me in my reloading room, cleaning guns, reloading, watching a Donner Party show on Discovery Chanel, and causing trouble on HuntingNut.

Well guys and gals my reloading bench is in the garage. It is heated to approximately 130 degrees F in the Summer and cooled down to 50-60 degrees F in the Winter. Very Happy I don't do a lot of reloading during the Summer months. And, if I do, it is E-A-R-L-Y in the morning when the temperature is down to a cool 90 degrees F. During the last two weeks it has finally started to cool down here in the desert and I have been reloading again. Getting ready for the Coyote season. The Coyote season here is actually year around but I take the Summer months off. I do have a small place up in Overgaard, AZ at an elevation of 6600 feet. It is typically 20-25 degrees F cooler than Phoenix and I plan to hunt up there next Summer. I just purchased some new snake proof boots from Cabela's. Maybe they will help to protect me from the 27 varieties of poisonous snakes we have here in Arizona. Very Happy

I have a small (8'x8') concrete block room under my front porch with a door on it. This is the reloading room with the gun safe. The base to the reloading bench is a craftsman workbench with a laminated wood top. I built two cabinets at two different times that house all of my bullets and reloaded cartridges. All the powder and primers are locked in the steel craftman base. I have two presses, one (turret) is mounted to the concrete block wall on a steel support I welded up, via all thread going through the wall into the ext room. The other press (rock chucker) is mounted to a heavy duty wooden shelf. That is it, nothing fancy. It continues to grow...
