When I was working at a gas station (and not one of those mini-mart ones) I used to work opening on Saturdays and I called it trucker coffee, kept them awake and was a good hearty breakfast for them too. Very Happy

"Cowboy coffee" Boil water in a pot over fire...Pour a handfull of coffee grounds in boiling water...Take off of fire and let steep...Sprinkle cold water from mountain spring over pot to settle grounds...Pour coffee...Either spit the extra gounds out or chew on them...Your choice.

That too....It's some of the finest coffee I have ever drank...Especially on those cold mornings just before the hunt...

Huh,
You mean they make iced tea without sugar? Naw, really? Yall, be in trouble round here boy. You order sweet milk and tea. Sweet milk VS butter milk and tea is iced and sweet, period. Tea is served for lunch and dinner and Coke (everything is Coke, even Pepsi) goes with breakfast.

I just had an educational breakfast Saturday, gave a demonstration of the correct prochedures involved in consuming sausage, eggs, biscuits and grits at breakfast, to a fellow from the left coast. He was amazed that grits could be eaten under wet eggs and tobasco and without sugar and butter.... Very Happy We now have a convert.. he likes cheese grits and eggs.

Grits...Eeeyyuuck!!!...Eggs on top of hashbrowns with tabasco sause and pork sausage or thick cut bacon. Strong fresh coffee. Now that's breakfast... Stuff the tea... Very Happy

Gidday Bushy, how are ya mate? How's the near new Mum going?

I find that its not just the "cockles of my heart" that need warming on a night. To warm everything up you need a good healthy dash.....or is that splash..... of dark rum in your coffee. Very Happy Very Happy Love it. Laughing Laughing

I would have thought that an old salt such as yourself would automatically reach for the rum when you want to spice up your coffee.

Yep..Bundy in the coffee....do a little "BEAR" wrestling....mmmmmmm

My youngest daughter went to a rock band concert last year for the US band AIDEN who played here in Brisbane and I introduced them to BEAR wrestling....Bundaberg Rum. They are converted, although it near destroyed them. Haha

For the uninitiated BEAR wrestling refers to the emblem on the Bundaberg Rum bottle.

Bundaberg Rum

I would have thought that the spirits in the US would be much the same strength as those here in aussie, especially with Jamaica and their rum so close to you guys.

ANZAC Day coming up in a week or so....plenty of rum and coffee at 4am then....I'm looking forward to it.

Cheers, Vince

Sweet Tea---- Must be a Southern Drink.
Anybody asks me for "Sweet Tea" here in Minnesota, I'd ask to see their pink panties first.
Sorry guys, I'm with Bushy.

Vince I'm thinking about importing a bottle of that Bundaberg to try... you sparked my taste buds cuz I love me some good rum. Would you recommend the underproof or the overproof to try first? I'm thinking maybe I should just go ahead and get both..hmm....
