Interestingly enough, when "SINs" were first issued in Canada, the people were guaranteed by the Prime Minister, that they were only for tax purposes and we'd never have to use them for identification purposes (fear of big brother, right?) now it's usually the first piece of i.d. we're asked for. It's a SIN alright.
Almost 30 years ago our federal police were caught snooping in people's mail, so parliament hurried right out and made it legal for them to do so.
Basically, though, I think anyone wants real privacy these days, they'd have to do what Dmitri and Bushmaster are describing and get right off the grid, live like a hermit.

Problem with using your name and Brithday is that especially if you have a common first name and last name you probably have another person with the same name (inculding middle name) who was born on the same day and year as you!
Trust me I'm not kidding its possible I know a couple of people with the same/similar name that were born on the same day and year as someone else. Inculding me.

We he he hellllll....If we really wanna get worried about big brother watching, I saw an interview with a woman who works for a company that embeds computer chips into credit cards so that if they're stolen they can be shut down immediately, basically even the account numbers don't matter anymore, although I think their technology is still quite expensive. We all know how fast techno comes down in price.
The interviewer asked her if the same tiny little microchips could be embedded in humans and she just smirked and said "what do you think?"

well I don't think anybody's gonna come up with a chip that would shut you down Bushy, but track us down, I suppose is the notion. Of course if the wrong people track me down, they better hope they've got me shut down when they catch up

40 visitors "visiting" the Forums at he moment. They just came out of the blue....must be computers "looking" at us again.
Dark Jamacian Rum Bushy.....so long as its OP mate. Used to enjoy a drop of Old Soldier or Frigate....both lovely dark OP rums. Still can't beat Gurkha Rum though. Not sure who makes it for them, but it would make a Willy Wagtail fight an Ostrich. ....very potent.
Cheers, Vince
