State Forest Hunting In NSW Australia is finally going to resume in February after being banned since the abolishion of the Game Council mid last year.
The rules and regulations will be posted on 20th of January on this link www.dpi.nsw.gov.au/hunting on the DPI website.

As part of the new safety measures, people must log details of the time and place they wish to hunt through an online booking system, complete two "online education modules" and carry a GPS device which holds government issued hunting and exclusion zone maps. |
Which is again another redundant finding.
Hunters already have to pre book for the time and places to hunt, and most if not all do use GPS to show the exclusion zones.
Online education modules? thats new, but I doubt it add anything to the general hunting knowledge.
Nevertheless, it is what we have to do to get back to the sport.
So I will comply... the things we do..
It is sad that most news people bottom feeders sided with the greens and posted derision to this recent development.

Doesn't seem too friendly but I suppose the greenies think they're keepin on top of things allowing you to hunt again, but with added rules and regs. I suppose they're allowing you to actually kill an animal too? that would be a plus also. Do you have to introduce yourself and make remembrance arrangements? what do you do if the youngsters of the animal are within sight or ear-shot, wait for the appropriate moment when they're not looking? but it would be hard to tell if they're related or not, they should really take surveillance photos of the various animal families so you can determine who's who, maybe with some flash-cards or put that into the GPS as well.
Anyways hopefully the time off from hunting in there might just have made it a premium hunt experience.

Well it just cracks me up, all the regulations/precautions/safety measures, it all goes along with makin sure your kid isn't disappointed when his team loses a game by not keepin score, or pass or fail exams. Ya know? Don't want any hurt feelings.....seems to me that's what makes a person a man or a mouse and there's always room for each in their own niche, but now we're makin lambs out of everybody. Don't wanna get a broken fingernail? Sheesh

Only problem I see is the damned bush fires you fellahs are contending with, makes for beautiful sun rises and sun sets her in NZ - got something to do with all the crap in the atmosphere refracting the light.

That is another issue we have to content with.
In the past, hunting is prohibited when there are total fire ban, regardless of whether you are lighting a fire when you camp or not.
I guess it is prudent since firing your gun does make some very hot gasses that may start a bush fire.

Just a quick update.
I have just finished the new test on the hunting permit website.
The tests and tutorial are available on the old game council booking page.
There are two test to be passed, one for the regulatory and the other is for the map reading skills.
It took about 40 minutes to do both tests.
I am planning to go on the very fist day hunting will be available (3 February) but have not yet make any booking at this time.
Cheers
