nice but..... put one of those laminated stocks(see I didnt say plywood ) and it would be even nicer.
your workmanship looks to be up to the usual high standard and Im sure she is a shooter.

Hi Elvis,
if this was "my" gun, I probably would have gone with a laminated stock. I just build'em the way they want'em...
I should get a range report from "Doc" after he gets a load worked up and if he send me some targets or pictures, I'll post them over here....

I built my target rifle on the same action with a 26" Douglas barrel in .223 and your right, gotta love that action. Oh and I did put a laminated stock on mine. Real tack driver, best group to date was 5 shots 0.17"

Damn, DS...you've done it again mate...drool all through my keyboard.
I am with the others on the stock mate...the camo doesn't do it for me, although maybe it's just the colours...they are very bright and gaudy looking. Now if the whole rifle (barrel, stock, action - the works) was done in a woodlands camo pattern I reckon it would look heaps better. A hand rubbed laminated stock would look pretty smart as well.
Once again, well done mate...another masterpiece from the work bench of DS.

Nice! So how much did you sell it to the doctor for?

Elvis - I'm not the one that shot the groups. "Doc" shot them about a month or so after I handed him the rifle and he got the time to load up a few rounds for it. Those two groups posted above were also with fire-form loads. It should do much better after load development and the barrel gets broken in....
Vince - "Doc" is a happy man! He just stays so busy at the hospital, that he does not have a lot of time to shoot. That's one reason I cut a tight chamber with "0" headspace. This would allow for "accurate" shooting, even with the new brass not being fire-formed in the chamber first...
I wish you didn't live so far away - I'd give you one of my rifles and no, I'm not kidding....
slimjim - "Doc" bought all the parts over a years time and brought everything to me to build and with him working at the same hospital as my wife, he got more than his fair share of a discount....
