I've used H4831 and the H4831sc in the past for both guns and have been happy. My 7mm is a custom douglass barrel and does require a little over the max to shoot good groups. How bout some more modern powder recommendations for these loads? I have thought about the H1000.

I use IMR 4350 in both. They work good for me, I have also used IMR 4831 with good success.

My 270 loves IMR 4350. I getting 3080fps with 130gr GMX, 3450fps with 110 TTSX, and both loads are 1/2 MOA. I lose 40 to 60fps in colder weather, however. No real impact unless I'm shooting longer than 300yds. I don't know of a modern powder that is less temperature sensitive thatwill give me those velocities.

Hard to beat IMR 4350 in the 7mag !!!
If I were gonna try the newer varieties I'd look into Retumbo, Hybrid 100V and Supreme 780

Hey Vince!
Glad to be back. Life has just been busy, bought some property in Northern Saskachewan. Always need a new place to go hunt and fish and Saskatchewan seems to be the place for me. Sask tourism estimates they have 100,000 lakes, (Not to mention the huge Whitetails that inhabbit the northern half of that province) if I fish a few one every day it'll only take me 273 years to get to them all..... Now I just need to win the lottery, retire and move there from Alberta. What's new in your world?

This is to Fastmark from on top the page. You wanted recommendations for modern powder for the 7mm mag? I use Reloader 22 in mine, but usually only for 120gr. ballistic tip & 115 gr hollowpoint. It's pushing them upwards of around 3400 with the 115 gr, and 3350 or so with 120gr. But that's right in between the max and min load & I use the "One book one load" manual I bought @ Cabelas. Also I've used H4350 with my 115 gr and right now pushing 'em @ 3507 is what I believe they are doing that lso is 2 grains under the max of 67 gr. of H4350, like I said I only used 65 gr. Hopefully that will help.
