My computer with XP crashed and would not load only in safe mode. So I went and purchased a new lap top with Windows 7 installed in it. have not figured out the whole thing yet, but so far my digital cameras wont work right with it, My printer has fits.
My Wife has a little Acer Aspire she got at walmart for $330.00 that has Win 7 and its easyer to use than my expensive Dell with same OP sys. Confused

Windows 7 Stater gives you alot less features which makes computer use easier for many as compared to the higher end versions with sometimes appear to have too many options.

That is a perfectly normal feeling on the subject Crackshot.

Ive had Win 7 -64bit-for about a year now on my laptop, and its really not bad at all. I dont have pro, so its selective on what older x86 programs it will let me run. I cant run photoshop 7 on it, but I can run 2000 office. I could buy the key to release the beast and run everything, but MS wants too much for it. every copy of Win 7 has everything in it, you just need the key to change it to different versions. I know, there are "aftermarket"keys, but they are not legal and will end up with the same " Not genuine"and proceed to cripple the OS system. I know because my friend did just that, and his is now doing what stiffanbound's pirated OS is doing now. oh, and Stiffy, you best get it fixed, I hear it will eventually make your OS non operational. and unless you were able to back up before it happens, you lose everything on your drive. Companies just are not playing nice with pirating like they did in the past. Thats why I dont do it.

just remember to check that setting often. Windows has the nasty habit of turning it on when your not looking. Usually when you download an update. And even with it turned off, and even if you have your wifi turned off and your cat5 unplugged, you will notice that 7 will turn on the wifi when its booting up. MS support says this is just a test to verify the wifi is properly installed on start up, but it also will sometimes transfer information to MS and to your system. Like, turning on the Notify setting.
The Gates of Hell are not happy about bootleggers, and are trying whatever they can to stop it. Personally, I think dropping the price of the OS to something much more affordable would go a long way. But hey, what do I know

you know if you enroll in a college course, your a student, If you a student, you can get all MS products are a greatly reduced rate. Wn 7 pro upgrade is $35.

Office Pro , complete uncrippled version was $89, shipping included. Straight from MS themselves.

Oh, and on a side note, you dont OWN the software. You havent been able to own MS software for some time now. You basically LEASE it. MS owns it. Read the agreement that comes with the software.

Windows 7 is still slow and bulky but it is a lot better than Vista.
If you want fast use DOS on a P3 ..... Takes about three seconds to boot and programs load the same.

My Linux machine is faster than the win 7 but I have to complete the process to get it all working right.
