I need to know more about the Virginia Dragoon .44mags.
stainless steel model.

Gentlemen, please tell me what you can, and what a good price is for one.
I have the opportunity of buying one for $350.00 from a coworker who has 3 of them and swears by them.

regards
Keetoowah

Dont have any experience with them but have read some good things about them. Also a few bad things. Personally, I would look for a Ruger Super Blackhawk. The Ruger can be carried with all 6 chambers loaded (new model) unlike the Dragoon which requires an empty chamber under hammer for safety. Factory service is also available for the Ruger should one ever require it.

my friend just bought a 45 mag blackhawk for her husband and he made his own holsters. He let me hold it and look at it closer and it is what I want.
I have been looking at ruger blackhawks every store that carries them now
also found a nice win .308 I want.
thanks for the info

Is probably a .45Colt. These are ALOT of fun to shoot and are not all that hard you with factory ammunition. I loved mine. Need to call Ruger about it, is the one I blew up awhile ago. They also make a .45ACP cylinder for them though I am pretty sure you need to have it fitted to the frame of the revolver to make sure it is timed right. If I remember most are 4 5/8" or 7 1/2" barrels. I know of some 6.5" .41 Magnums out there a friend has one. I also must say loading for the Colt is pretty straight forward but not really needed any more with all of the higher end ammo out there and the "cowboy" loads are all over the place. IF you get one you most likely will not be disapointed in it at all. There is a reason why Dick Casull had Blackhawk frames made when he first started working up the .454Cas. Basicall the same thing Keith did with the .44Spec. But with a .454 cal. Now as I think on it it might be a .44Mag? These are a bit more stout to shoot, my dad one in a Super Blackhawk(squared trigger guard, wider hammer spur) with the same length of barrel as my .45. We both liked my .454 ALOT better.
