Good morning,
This is just a quick post to introduce myself. I live in Southeast Alaska on Prince of Wales Island. Came to Alaska in 1966 to go to college and have been here pretty much ever since, except for a couple of breaks in Oregon and Wyoming. I shoot a model 88 Winchester (.308), made in 1955 per the serial number. Also shoot a Marlin 336 in .30-30, a Lyman GPR flintlock (.54) and a Remington model 6 rolling block .22. Other rifles have come and gone, but these are what have hung around longest.
I've been reloading since I was in the Navy (before college). Don't have the fancy equipment, I use an old Lyman 310 tong tool mostly, or the Lee hand press. Nice and relaxing at the kitchen table in the evening when the young one is in bed.
Hope to be of use to others on the site, and to learn from the rest of you.

Welcome Kees!
Really glad to have ya. This is great because I've always wondered about what it would take to do a Black Bear hunt on Prince of Wales Island. Do you have much experience hunting them at all? I want to go there for a black bear hunt, my brother wants to go there for a Blacktail hunt, unfortunately I hear spring is the time for the bear and fall of course is best for blacktail.
While I've never been to Prince of Wales, I've been to Ketchikan 5 or 6 times in the past. Very pretty country.

Aw it's just in fun. Every branch of the service has it's job to do. I used to say that to my dad when he was alive. He was a wannabe (merchant marine). The only reason I posted that with the laughing emoticons. Groovyjack don't hold back.
The S*** in the fan was cute. We Marines didn't play with ours.
They guard your gates because they can't trust you.
We come under the Navy Department.
And I was a misguided child, do you know me!
enough said about that....
